This organization was founded with the following goals:
To develop a partnership among parents, school, and community.
To encourage communication and involvement among the parents, teachers, administrators, and students.
To provide resources and support for teacher and student activities.

THANK YOU, SCHOOL BOARD: It's School Board Recognition Month and we've got some nice things to say about these folks. Read all about it here: https://bit.ly/3iCDujc

BOTTLES AND CANS AND JUST CLAP YOUR HANDS: Beaverton students participating in Business Professionals of America need your help. They're fundraising to help defray expenses associated with their competitions and they're running a can drive. You can drop them in Room 155 at BJSHS or arrange pickup by asking a BPA member or calling Jill Wagner at 989.329.8642. Please help spread the word and thanks for supporting this great cause. #BPA #GoBeavers

GRATEFUL: Whether they're teaching safety lessons in classrooms, conducting home visits or keeping the peace in the hallways, our School Resource Officers do an admirable job of making our campus safe. Thank you, Officers Cingano and Doyle, for all you do for our kids every day. #Appreciation #GoBeavers

...AND TO ALL A GOOD BREAK: Beaverton Elementary closed out the year in style this morning, playing host to the BJSHS Band and Choir for a big ol' holiday singalong. Along the way, a handful of students were recognized for bringing the cheer, the crowd was treated to the teaching staff's unique interpretation of 'The 12 Days of Christmas' and, oh yeah, The Big Fella showed up. What a way to end 2022. Check out video of the show at https://youtu.be/rT7DWDmJn6w. #BringOn23 #GoBeavers

CAVALCADE OF CHRISTMAS CUTE: It happens every year: Our Kindergarten and Specials teachers get our little ones dressed up and trained in the art of holiday spirit, they put on a big show and melt our hearts. And they did it again this afternoon. Great job, class of 2035. #Beavers

SKATERS GONNA SKATE: Beaverton Elementary first-grader Memphis Adams is someone to watch in the years to come. Actually, she’s someone to watch right now. Last month, she competed in the annual Skate Midland event alongside 150 other athletes from around the state and beyond and crushed her division, placing first in Overall Program with Music and second in Fundamental Elements. This is a huge accomplishment that followed 18 months of dedicated training, lessons and flat-out work. Memphis’ mother, Caitlin, reports that Memphis is now working through various stages to compete at a higher level after the New Year. Congratulations, Memphis; we can’t wait to see what happens next. #HardWorkPaysOff #GoBeavers

AT THE MOVIES: There was no sign of Siskel or Ebert, but Beaverton's Gem Theater did host a group of VIPs Monday for an exclusive sensory-friendly showing of 'Strange World.' Our Links students and their Peers were treated to popcorn, drinks and a theater all to themselves, and they had a blast. Thanks to the Gem for the accommodations and a special afternoon for a great group of kids. (And if you haven't heard about Links, catch up here: https://bit.ly/3B8BnK4. It's a tale worth hearing.) #OnlyInBeaverton #GoBeavers

IT'S TIME TO FACE FACTS - DECEMBER IS HERE: So we can groan about short days and sub-zero temperatures, or we can follow the example set by BES first-graders and...BUILD GINGERBREAD HOUSES! Family members stopped by Friday to pitch in on construction, and it turned out to be more fun than ought to be possible with gum drops and graham crackers. Dear Beaverton Elementary School Families,
Please join us in honoring all of the veterans and service members from our community that have served or are serving in our Armed Forces. We will be honoring these individuals with an assembly on Friday, November 11th, at 9:30am at the Beaverton Elementary School. A light reception will also be provided for our community military service members beforehand from 9:00am-9:25am.
Please let your veteran(s) know that we would be honored if they would attend our assembly. The students at Beaverton Elementary School are all involved in the assembly in some capacity. Whether they are creating patriotic artwork, singing, acting, creating “Thank You” cards, submitting videos, speaking, or greeting our special community members when they arrive, our BEAVER PRIDE is focused on our amazing local heroes.
Visiting veterans may choose to be in or out of uniform (past or present) for this special event. The students will learn so much through the presentation of uniforms in the building. We are just delighted to share the morning with such incredible people!
