1. Reminder to 7th and 8th grade student government members-You have a meeting
Today during WIN in Mrs. Sprague's room (230). Be sure to join the google
classroom for Student Government before the meeting.

3. SPARKS and Ignite Programming begin next Monday, September 19th. With
Busing starting on the following week September 26th. It is not too late to turn in
your enrollment forms to join! SPARKS offers homework help, healthy dinner and
snacks, credit recovery, college readiness, college tours, exciting field trips,
fun daily activities, and much more!
4. Student government will be having a bake sale at Friday’s home game, each
member is required to bring at least one baked good, see Mrs. Hubble for more
details.
5. Pep assembly on Friday in new Football/track bleachers. All WIN classes should
be practicing yell down this week to be prepared for first yell down contest of the
year!

The cross country team competed in the Marion Steeplechase on Saturday. Congratulations to
Taj Finney and Tessa Wohlschlegel who both placed 2nd in their prospective races. And
medaling in the middle school race were Braeden Hargrove in 8th place and Riley Sprague in
20th.

HANDS ON LEARNING: Mrs. Woodruff's 7th and 8th graders have spent the past few days answering the STEM Robotic Limbs/Prosthetics Challenge. This project called for students to partner up; research and highlight people who use a prosthetic; and design and build robotic hands. The challenge: Could the hands pick up and move a pop can? Spoiler alert: They sure could.

learning and doing activities to help you grow in theatre knowledge, stage directions,
blocking, stage presence, movements, character emotions,
how to do improv! If you have a fear of standing in front of people to give a speech, this
could help! 7 thru 12th Sign up in the office all week! September 6th thru the 9th!

over Gladwin County that spend a few hours each month learning about philanthropy.
Students learn to serve their community and meet its challenges by supporting non-profit
youth programs and projects through their grant-making. They learn to serve, and through
serving, they learn to lead. If you would like to learn more about GladYak and how you
can be involved, please go to the Office to sign up.
7. Students interested in playing, or learning to play, chess or tabletop roleplaying games are
encouraged to join the chess and/or Roleplaying clubs. These clubs meet on Wednesdays
after school until 5 pm in Mr. Hitsman's room, 227. There's no need to sign up, no
commitment, and no experience needed. Come check it out!
8. Juniors and Seniors, MID is offering 2 students the chance to win a scholarship during the
Clare vs Beaverton football game on Friday Sept. 9th. If you would like to enter for the
chance to compete in the Toss Challenge on the field during the game, please sign up
using the QR code located on flyers posted around the school or see your WIN teachers
for the QR code. Please be sure that you will be able to attend the game in Clare on that
day before signing up. Good luck to all!

The cross-country team competed in a large invitational at Shepherd on Wednesday. In the
boys’ middle school race, Braeden Hargrove was 43rd, Riley Sprague 103rd and Cameron Greer
was 190th. In the girls race Myah Hubble took 18th. In the varsity boys race Taj Finney was 17th
in his division with a new PR and in the girls race Tessa Wohlschlegel took 8th in her division.

The cross country team ran at SVSU on Friday. Earning medals for the Beavers were: Taj Finney
15th place out of 114. Tessa Wohlschlegel was 9th out of 92. Braeden Hargrove was 6th of 19
and Riley Sprague was 11th. Myah Hubble took 3rd of 15. The team's next race will be at
Shepherd on Wednesday September 7th.

Because we remain committed to taking every necessary precaution to ensure the safety of our student-athletes and spectators, this week's JV Football game against the Pioneers will be played in Clare Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. The varsity football game will be played as scheduled Friday at 7 p.m. at Clare.
Nobody is more anxious and excited to see our teams competing on our home stomping grounds at C.W. Metzger Field than us, so please understand we share your frustration.
