SAFETY DRILL: In our ongoing practices designed to keep students and staff safe, we conducted campus-wide intruder drills this afternoon in cooperation with Beaverton City Police. After the simulation, teachers and students discussed different scenarios and potential actions that could be taken in the event of an actual incident. As campus safety and security plans continue to evolve, rest assured we’ll always make it a point to keep the community informed and involved. #Safety+Security

URGENT: UNFORSEEN EARLY RELEASE - Good morning, Beaverton family. Due to a boiler malfunction at Beaverton Elementary causing unacceptable temperatures in classrooms and offices, all students in grades K through 12 will be released early today - BES students at 12:15 p.m. and BJSHS students at 12:30 p.m.
Please make appropriate arrangements to ensure your child is either picked up at school at that time or any necessary childcare is arranged for their arrival home via bus shortly after that release time. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this causes your family and expect to have the issue resolved later this afternoon.

FRIENDLY REMINDERS:
Tomorrow is a half day of school. Elementary release time is 11:35am while the Jr./Sr. High release time is 11:45am
In the afternoon, parent-teacher conferences will commence from 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. at both buildings.
At BES, conferences for grades K-3 will be held in students’ respective classrooms at scheduled times. For grades 4-6, all teachers will gather in the gym for arena style meetings. At BJSHS, all teachers will confer with parents in their classrooms. All meetings for grades 4-12 will be held on a first-come, first-served basis.

WINTER CLOTHES: While you’re checking in with your student’s teachers at Tuesday's parent/teacher conferences, please stop by and take any clothes you may need for winter - coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, pants and more items for the choosing. FAMILIES WITH DENTAL NEEDS: The GLB Health Centers Dental Bus is returning to Beaverton Schools next week, and if your student needs some preventative dental services, this is a great opportunity. The mobile dentist will be at the school Nov. 27 and 28 for all interested K-12 students. Services offered will include preventative measures like cleanings, exams, fluoride treatments and sealants.
