"THAT GIRL IS TOTALLY OFF HER TUFFET": Don't even think about missing the BJSHS Drama Dept.'s play "Doc, Doc...Goose!" this Sunday, Dec. 15 at the BAC. It's gonna be a wild show, as BES students can attest; they got a sneak preview this afternoon. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show, and tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for students, veterans and young children.

A MAJOR DEAL: Beaverton math teacher Kossi Komlassan woke up a Captain in the Michigan Army National Guard this morning, but he'll go to bed with a new title. BJSHS was the ceremonial site for Komlassan's promotion to Major this afternoon, and he was surrounded by his family, his lieutenant colonel and the entire sophomore class he instructs every day. As Operations Officer for the 119th Field Artillery Regiment - AKA the Red Lions - Komlassan knows all about leadership, commitment and getting the job done well, and it was a proud day for the entire district.. Check out the video of the ceremony at https://t.ly/Vyz6r. Congratulations, Major. #Respect #GoBeavers

Based on our discussions with Harrison Schools and our Admininstration today, we have decided for the safety of our kids and community to cancel our Girls basketball game scheduled for tonight (12/5/24). Thank you for understanding.

Good morning. We are currently in talks with our Admin and road commission on our scheduled Girls game this evening with Harrison. We hope to have a decision made around noon. There will be no youth/middle school and sub varsity practices. please watch for posted updates. Thank you.

REALITY CHECK: Learning essential life skills was at the top of the to-do list at the annual Reality Store event today at BJSHS. This collaboration between Beaverton Schools, Clare-Gladwin CTE and Mid Michigan College presents students - in today's case, seniors - with scenarios set in the not-so-distant future, like: You're just starting a career, or college, or both. What kind of job do you need to support your aspirations and live the life you want? Students are given a strict budget and need to account for life's necessities like housing, transportation, food, insurance, entertainment and more. Their mission is to make it all fit within their means. The lessons are numerous and valuable - everything from career planning to money management. #LifeSkills #GoBeavers

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: It's hard to enjoy sports without concessions, right? Well, it's also hard to provide concessions without volunteers. So the Beaverton Sports Boosters is asking friends, fans and family of BJSHS and BES sports to step up and take a turn behind the concession counter this winter, and they've made it easier than ever to sign up. Just visit bit.ly/3WQkVrP to choose your sport and date. And thanks. Community spirit is what makes this place special. #GoBeavers

Beaverton Athletics is in full swing this week! Join us for the home opener of the Girls JV/V basketball season with another Bleacher Creatures Theme Night! The Lady Beavers will take on the Sacred Heart Irish in Roy Johnston Gymnasium Tuesday (12/3) evening at 6 pm. Students in grades 6-12 are encouraged to join the Bleacher Creatures in the student section for a "WHITE OUT" (wear all white). There are several other fun themes planned for both girls and boys home games this season! Check out the scheduled events in the images below!

Students CAN make a difference!! The 9-12 Student Government Association sponsored a canned food drive at the first home basketball game of the season! Students in grades 6-12 brought cans, filled the food boxes and the student section to cheer the Beaverton Boys JV/V to a victory! It was a win for everyone. Canned goods are being donated to the Sacred Heart Mission Food Pantry. Thanks to all who supported us!
